Lovestruck Alley is an all original musical, completely written, composed and produced by the young people of Carisbrooke Cast. Bursting with creativity, humour and heart, this is a show built from the ground up by its own performers, giving voice to their ideas, experiences and imagination.
Step back into the 1980's where we join our cast of misfits and slackers hiding behind the counter of a run-down bowling alley. Alli and Tash were settled into a life of mediocrity and trying to avoid the constant interruptions of their overly friendly and distinctly nerdy boss Geoff. Their days were punctuated with rude customers, cleaning up vomit and disinfecting bowling shoes -- nothing every changed...
That is, until Striker arrives.
Bold, flamboyant and impossible to ignore, Striker’s entrance shakes the foundations of the alley and sparks something new in Alli. As Alli struggles to come to terms with his own identity, coupled with a diabolical plan to shut down the Alley, tensions grow, unlikely alliances are forged and everything is questioned.
Set to a vibrant soundtrack of new-wave electro-pop, Lovestruck Alley explores the intensity of first love, the sting of betrayal and the complicated bonds that tie people together. With humour, heart and a touch of teenage rebellion, it captures the spirit of classic 1980s cinema, echoing films such as Say Anything… and Sixteen Candles, while telling a story that is entirely its own.
At its core, this is a celebration of youth, identity, the courage to change your story and embrace who you really are.
